Depot off Scenic Drive, Titirangi. The tramline runs for six kilometres along the
southern flanks of the Waitakere Ranges through luxuriant native rain forest. Phone 09 634-4809.
- Take a drive south to Waiuku, visit the Glenbrook steam trains on the way and then head
to Karioitahi to see a wild west coast beach. Choose a day with a westerly wind and you could see 30
hang-gliders in the air at once. Have a meal at Castaways on top of the cliff where
the hang-gliders land. It pays to phone 09 236 5041 first as they are sometimes booked out with a
private function.
